MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CENTURYTEL OR EMBARQ.

• The CAD Technician position primarily involves entering route information pertaining to a fiber optic network into the network management system (OSPInsight). 

• Qualifications for this position include but are not limited to the following: Proficient in the use of Mapinfo mapping software; Understanding of GIS/GPS systems and terminology; Experience with OSP Insight fiber management software (essential); Ability to read and interpret fiber optic construction drawings; Familiarity with fiber optic construction practices (preferable); and proficient in Windows operating system environment and working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

• Expected education and experience are as follows: Associate degree in Geography or equivalent 2 years work experiencerequired; Technical training in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience is preferred;  Related work experience in the facility management environment is a plus; Must be proficient in Mapinfo Version 7.0 or similar mapping software and be familiar with relational databases; Must be proficient in Windows operating system environment, and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft office.
