Job Description
CONTRACT POSITION Works independently in administering complex construction and services contracts.
Prepares and organizes assigned Contracts sponsored meetings, such as bid clarification, pre-award and progress review meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between CLIENT and subcontractor on all contractual matters. After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules.
Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures Prepares contract documents for execution Prepares and maintains control and status reporting documents
Administers assigned (sub)contracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties. Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, (sub)contract performance, (sub) contract administration and other major matters. Administers moderately complex contract changes by negotiating with subcontractor and obtaining settlement. Represents CLIENT in contractual discussions of moderate complexity. Administers information programs to ensure mutual understanding of (sub) contract terms and conditions. Prepares periodic status reports for management. Forms field contract documents by coordinating with other jobsite groups.
Develops and issues contracts and services agreements as assigned by performing the following:
Prepares bidders¿ lists Pre-qualifies bidders Forms bid request packages Issues bid request packages to approved bidders Coordinates bidders¿ questions and answers to those questions Receives bids Evaluates bids commercially Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendation letter
Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
At least 5 years of (sub)contract administration experience At least 3 years of which must be (sub)contract experience in the heavy construction industry At least 1 year of which must be in the telecommunications industry
Working knowledge of contracting regulations, policies and practices. Advanced contract administration experience including processing of Change Orders, Amendments and Claims. Strong skills in handline contract correspondence and written documentation. Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms. Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management. Knowledge and experience in the formation of contracts and contract agreements, including types, terms and legal requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with project team and functional management Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE BUSINESS TRIPS, SHORT AND/OR LONG TERM ASSIGNMENTS. RIGHT TO WORK AND REMAIN IN THE UNITED STATES.
